From our Co-Executive Director, Farah Tanis:

"On September 23, 2020 the Louisville Grand Jury handed one indictment to former Officer Brett Hankison of “wanton endangerment” for executing a no-knock warrant that led to the murder of Breonna Taylor. Two other officers involved, Sgt. John Mattingly and Det. Myles Cosgrove, were not charged.

We are devastated by the Kentucky grand jury decision with regards to Breonna Taylor's murderers. We offer our unwavering support for her family, her friends, and everyone in our communities grieving the loss of yet another one of our sisters. We will keep shouting, keep marching, and keep fighting in Breonna's name until the day Black women and girls receive what we are owed and the justice we deserve.

Until the setting loose of officers who kill with impunity is stopped, there can only be a resounding cry for justice out of each of our mouths. Having built the physical foundation of this nation with our own bodies, with these same Black bodies, we demand justice."
