The Black Women’s Truth and Reconciliation CommissionWe need your help to make our vision come to life and to reach as many Black women as possible.
The Black Women’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) counts on supporters like you to fund the fight against rape and other forms of sexual assault and harassment in our communities. Black women deserve dignity, respect, recognition, and recourse against their harm-doers. Help a survivor move into the light by sponsoring their participation in the TRC.

When Black Women's Blueprint launched the TRC over half a decade ago, we knew that our effort was the first of its kind in the nation to address sexual violence against Black women on a mass scale. We knew that too many of us had swallowed our own stories and borne the pain alone, afraid, a little bit broken…
But, we were also moved to action. We knew that, for too long, too much silence and complicity by the state and our loved ones alike had prevented us and our foremothers from getting the justice we all deserved. We knew that something had to change.
But what we did not yet know--what we could only intuit but not quite count--is that, since the Commission launched, we would collect the testimony of over 600 survivors in just our immediate networks. A miniscule fraction of survivor stories out there, we remain outraged by the vast scale of violation that our Black sisters today have survived, never mind the centuries of violence that our ancestors were forced to endure.
As calls for the TRC have grown and the final Tribunal approaches in April 2016, so too has the gap between what we know is possible and what our collective purse contains and currently allows us to do.
We need your help to make our vision come to life and to reach as many Black women as possible.
Your donation will cover the costs necessary to enlist as many survivors as possible to participate in the final culmination of this project. From April 28-May 1, we will take to the stage together and bravely tell our truths in front of our fellow survivors, community, national, and international policymakers, those that have hurt us, and those allies, many survivors themselves, who have helped set us free.
Allies like you. Sponsor a survivor at the Black Women’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission today.
